This project involved creating a brand entirely from scratch, including the concept, name, and identity. I developed Berraquera as a Colombian coffee brand, defining its purpose, positioning, and visual direction from the ground up.
The aim was to build a cohesive brand that reflects Colombian culture, sustainability, and authenticity, while appealing to a modern UK audience.
Overview
With no existing brief or brand provided, I independently developed the idea of a Colombian coffee brand, including naming the brand “Berraquera,” inspired by a Colombian term meaning something exceptional.
From this initial concept, I built out the full brand identity, including its story, values, personality, and visual system. The concept centres around “a taste of Colombia,” combining cultural storytelling with a bold and modern identity.
My Role
I was responsible for creating the brand from concept to execution, including:
-
Brand idea and concept development
-
Naming and positioning
-
Brand strategy (mission, vision, values)
-
Visual identity design
-
Logo creation and guidelines
-
Colour palette and typography
-
Brand tone of voice
-
Application across packaging and marketing
Outcome
The final outcome is a complete brand identity and guideline document, demonstrating the ability to originate a brand idea and develop it into a fully realised visual and strategic system.
This project highlights my ability to think conceptually, build brands from the ground up, and translate ideas into cohesive, real-world outcomes.
